Wailea Travel Guide
Welcome to Wailea!
Located on the southwestern shore of the island of Maui, Wailea boasts miles of sandy beaches in front of luxury hotels and resorts. Some of the best beaches in the area are found at Makena State Park, which features a stretch of sand over a half mile long. An average of over 320 sunshine days per year make Wailea a perfect vacation spot for sun worshippers and outdoor enthusiasts. This also makes the location a great spot for golfers, who have several courses to choose from in the area, including the Wailea Golf Course complex, which has three of the hardest and most scenic courses in the islands of Hawaii. Bodysurfing and wave riding are popular sports near Wailea, with milder waves than on other parts of the island. Tennis is also popular here, with the Wailea Tennis Club offering 11 paved courts and a pro shop on hand for member and guest use.
